Patients with acute occlusion of the basilar artery will present with sudden and dramatic neurological impairment, the exact characteristics of which will depend on the site of occlusion: Sudden and dramatic neurological impairment Loss of vision in part or all of both eyes Double vision Vertigo (spinning sensation) Numbness or tingling Nausea and vomiting Slurred speech Loss of coordination, dizziness or confusion Trouble swallowing sudden death/loss of consciousness Loss of vision in part or all of both eyes Double vision Vertigo (spinning sensation) Numbness or tingling Nausea and vomiting
