Wales is one of the four countries that makes up the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland. The terminology here is the name for the first administrative level much like states in the United States or provinces in Canada. It borders England to the east, the Irish Sea to the north and west, and the Bristol Channel to the south.
