I thought it was a cult back then. Lots of love-bombing, and groups baptising the latest convert in the closest available muddy stream. LOL. After 30 odd years we are back in contact and no prosyletizing, although she is still in the Navigators and still mentions activities. I think she is fairly high up in the hierarchy.

So glad you decided to talk about this very disturbing situation that you find yourself in. I am so so sorry for what you have been put through over the years. I have heard of the Navigators and was stunned to see that there is a concern with their practices. I didn’t know they were referred to as “mentor” either.

The cult like group I was a part of, made it their mission to preach to military members. My leaders had told me they were easy recruits because they are used to taking orders and were not arrogant. She said that they can be used as a tool by God to preach to the world while they were on tour to others while they were stationed.
