How is radiotherapy used to treat lung cancer?
Radiotherapy. Radiotherapy (RT) is well established in the palliative treatment of lung cancer. Indeed, 40%–50% of lung cancer patients receive radiotherapy, and, in 90% of these patients, the intent is palliative. 109,110 The main indications for RT are cough, haemoptysis, pain, dyspnoea and airway obstruction.
